After his father’s death, Harry Jr. and his wife, Daisy, assumed ownership and under their leadership, BSMW continued to prosper, eventually moving in 1972 to its present location on South Price Road. Since then, BSMW has provided materials and services for the Port of Brownsville, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Gateway International Bridge, off-shore rigs, shrimp plants, and countless residential and commercial sites. In 1980, Harry’s daughter, Ivianne R. Merrill, joined the company and nine years later, the corporation became woman-owned with Ivianne and her mother Daisy as major stock-holders.
